Nazem Abou Chami

In 2000 he graduated from the Electronics Engineering Technician program and and in 2002 he obtained his Biomedical Electronics Certificate at Fanshawe College. He then attended Western University, and in 2006 he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Electrical Engineering.

With over 15 years in the building automation industry and integration, Nazem is involved in project engineering and development of the graphical user interface package. In recent years, he began to focus with his partners on expanding into vertical markets and offering new services and solutions while ensuring prompt service and high quality install. He enjoys working with engineers and customers to provide intelligent and integrated solutions.

During his time off, he likes to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoys playing and watching various sports, but his favorite sport is soccer. When time permits he goes on vacations with his wife Lina and two kids Celine and Majd.

Nathan is a graduate of Conestoga College where he earned a diploma of Mechanical Engineering Technology – Robotics and Automation. Nathan Joined Durell in November 2001, as an HVAC Controls Technician, and gained invaluable experience through his involvement in HVAC controls installation, commissioning and eventually project supervision. In 2005, Nathan accepted the newly-formed Service Manager position and got to work on building a dedicated, full-time Service Department. By 2008, Durell had realized a substantial growth in post-installation service business thanks to the hard work and dedication of our office and on-site service staff.

Currently, Nathan continues his duties as Service Manager and focuses on strengthening relationships with customers. Nathan still handles the occasional service call as that is a part of the job that he is fond of.

Outside of duties at Durell, Nathan enjoys time with his wife Liz and their three children, Jacob, Nolan and Aaron. When he is not at the arena for his children’s minor hockey commitments Nathan enjoys heading back to the rink to lace up his skates for ‘over 35’ hockey and when the weather warms up he can usually be found on the golf course.

John has over 15 years of experience in Building Automation System and Intelligent Building integration, involved in design, programming, commissioning and project management. As the system manager, he is in charge of engineering department, dedicated to provide customers the best system designs and energy saving solutions. With the background of mechanical engineer, John has taken the lead role in our energy management services. He is also a LEEDâ„¢ Accredited Professional, experienced in green building design/commissioning and LEED project certification.

With a great interest in electronics, he enrolled and successfully completed the 3 year Electronics Technician and Robotics program at Fanshawe College. After completing a co-op term at Durell, he was quickly promoted to a project coordinator role. Today he enjoys his duty of General Manager at Durell. He specifically took interest learning about the various new technologies found in our industry and appreciates interacting with people who are pioneering new trends. Building new relationships with other local companies and ensuring that Durell focuses on providing a high level of customer service is very important to Gary. When he is not at work Gary enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, and travelling when the opportunity arises.
